Where I chat about the big stuff…
Editor At Large is the evolution of my Instagram & Blog “Opinion Pieces”, where I talk about fashion & style from the perspective of the people who make these things, and live their lives in them. What do Georgian style, American cotton, and industrial water pollution all have in common? The people who’s minds shape them, hands grow them, and who’s lives are effected by it. I’m here to tell their story, and bring some humanity back into our discourse about style and industry. I will also discuss history, the arts, culture, and general zeitgeist of society - because I find context is imperative to understanding the human condition. I also just simply enjoy it, and I think you might too.

If you have invested in, or been attracted to a RUGGABLE rug - let me tell you a bit about this company. You might not know that RUGGABLE is an American company, founded by an LA Mom & entrepreneur. Jeneva Bell set about engineering a rug that could be thrown in your washer, no different than any other textile in your home. Made almost entirely from recycled materials, and extended lifespan of the product through easy washability, RUGGABLE has set about trying to combine sustainability with innovation. Something we champion here at NWS!
However, it wasn’t until RUGGABLE launched a collaberation with the estate of famed 18th century English designer, William Morris, that they actually captured my attention. What an exquisite blend of the artistry of the past with the innovations of the future, from two companies committed to the environmental good. This particularly stunning, tapestry-esque print (called the Owl & Willow) stopped me in my tracks. What a gorgeous edition to a child’s room, nursery, playroom, or even bedroom hallway? The invitation to disappear into the whimsical landscape, is the perfect subtle nudge to keep the childlike joy & imagination alive in all of us.
